'Zine Ad FAQs
Are You Print Or Electronic? What Do Issues Cost?
We're both print & digital and offer print and digital subscription packages that include access to ad-free content, archives, and mail service. You can find packages on our website. We also keep current Issues available to community members under a pay-what-you-can model.
What's Your Reach & Distribution?
Currently we print a few hundred hard copies per Issue that we deliver only to thriving community places where each Issue gets high engagement. Our electronic Issue readership is quickly growing and so is our subscription base. We publish every 4-5 weeks. We're in an exciting phase of small-startup-growth mode!
We distribute paper copies to locations ranging from small businesses to arts centers to homeless shelters/services. We're committed to engaging populations that aren't being engaged by other local outlets, as well as engaging subscribers and readers who have expendable income and are interested in Reading's revitalization.
Are You In Spanish?
We see that so many of our community members fluidly navigate between languages and cultures side-by-side and moment-by-moment and have created one paper to reflect that. (ie - we do not print separate English and Spanish versions). Our Issues include content in both Spanish and English, and we are working on including other languages that reflect other segments of the population.
How Long Do Ads Run?
How long the ad appears depends on which package. Lower level packages are by Issue, while the higher packages run for up to 6 months/Issues. The details of the sponsorship packages are listed at www.hereinmycity.com/sponsor, where you can find a PDF to download as well.
What Makes Us Unique
Uniquely from other local outlets, providing technical assistance to increase civic engagement is one of our core "products." We’re informed by the STAR Community Rating System which lists Civic Engagement as a key to community sustainability - while we love including content from "writers," we are also dedicated to lifting up the voices of those community members who may not have another outlet, and we do this through small-group/one-on-one assistance and workshops. We offer sponsorship/ad packages for workshops as well as our traditional options.
