TRANSFORMING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH BICYCLING

Penn Street Pop Up Park & Pump Track Project

This project mobilized volunteers to transform an empty, blighted lot into an active community space featuring two bicycle pump tracks and a community garden. The pump track adds to Reading's growing bike culture and is the city's first outdoor bicycle recreational facility.

Local youth, young adults and adults put in thousands of volunteer hours and attended City Council and Planning Commission meetings throughout the project, learning about and engaging in the civic-advocacy and democratic process.

We depend on donations to keep the lights on and to provide leadership opportunities to kids, transitioning youth and adults. You can also help us to provide safe, reliable and affordable bicycles to the people of our community.

We depend on volunteers to continue our work.

We also love building partnerships with other organizations and creating unique sponsorship opportunities with local businesses.

We mobilize volunteers to run a community bike shop and advocacy center in downtown Reading.
